Shoals Technologies will build solar components plant

May 28, 2008 —Shoals Technologies Group will construct a new manufacturing facility in Gallatin, Tenn., to produce solar energy panel components.

With a $10.5 million capital investment, Shoals will build a 100,000-square-foot plant in the Gallatin Industrial Center on Airport Road. The move is expected to bring 300 jobs to the area over the next three years.

The company anticipates rapid expansion as the market for alternative energy systems grows. Based in Muscle Shoals, Ala., Shoals Technologies is a global supplier of product designs ranging from automotive assemblies to electromechanical devices.

Economic development partners on the project included the Gallatin Department of Electricity, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Gallatin Economic Development Agency, and TVA.
