Toyota supplier to build Tennessee plant
Feb. 20, 2008 —Arvin Sango, a manufacturer of exhaust systems for the Toyota Highlander and supplier of more than 65 percent of all exhaust systems used by Toyota Motor Company plants in North America, has selected Henderson, Tenn., for the location of its newest facility.
This is the company's fourth manufacturing plant in North America; the new facility will initially employ 40 people and represents a $10 million capital investment. Construction will begin this spring, and production is scheduled for early 2009.
Dan Baughman, executive vice president of Arvin Sango, Inc., said the Henderson plant will be conveniently located to Mississippi’s new Toyota plant, where the Highlander SUVs will be built. Arvin Sango also makes stampings, manifolds, instrument panels, and other automotive products.
A joint venture between Emcon Technologies Inc. and Sango Co. Ltd. of Japan, Arvin Sango also has plants in Madison, Ind., Merced, Calif., and Campbellsburg, Ky.
